Minister Kallas introduces Estonian School Model in UAE

Minister of Education and Research of Estonia Kristina Kallas is on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates on Monday and Tuesday. At the meeting with the Minister of Education Ahmad Belhoul Al Falas, she will introduce the Estonian School Model, which is being developed, and will discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of pre-primary, general and higher education.

„Estonian education is an export article with great potential. This is our opportunity to strengthen Estonia's position on the international stage, and that is why the Ministry, together with the universities of Tartu and Tallinn and Education Estonia, is developing the Estonian School Model, which the United Arab Emirates, among others, is interested in," said Minister Kallas on the eve of the visit.

In addition, Kallas will give a speak at a panel discussion in the main programme of the World Government Summit. The Session in titled: "The Educational Crisis: How Can Governments Nurture the Next Generations?".

As part of the visit, Minister Kallas will visit the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, where she will meet with its ruler T.M Sheikh Saud Saqr Al Quasimi and visit a local general education school and a university.

The World Government Summit has been held in Dubai annually since 2013. The aim of the event is to promote international cooperation, shape the future of public sector management and guide the future leaders to apply technologies to solve the challenges facing mankind. The main organiser is an impartial non-profit organisation and this year the main topic will be "Shaping future governments."
